Boat trip to Lysefjord and Preikestolen/Pulpit Rock.
We enter the sightseeing boat which will take us on a trip in the Stavanger archipelagoand into the Lysefjord. The first part of the tour gives us a good idea how the Norwegians live in this area and we will most likely meet quite a few spending a summer day on board their pleasure boats. You will see fish farms and be able to feed the goats living in the steep hillsides of the fjord.

We cruise into the beautiful Lysefjord, 42 km long (approx. 26 miles) and a pearl in Norwegian nature. The glaciers formed the fjord landscape during a series of ice ages. The mountains sour up to 1000 metres (3000 feet) above the sea level on both sides of the fjord and some places it ranges as deep in the fjord as it height above sea level.
In the fjord is the location of one of Norway’s spectacular wonders, Preikestolen - the Pulpit Rock. The rock formation is just over 597 meters above the sea level and we cruise directly under it. While cruising in the fjord, it is an interesting thought that in many places the water around us is as deep as the mountains are high. On our way back to Stavanger we make a stop at Lysefjordsenteret for coffe and waffles.
